The Grand Tournament of Chivalry | Carcassonne
From July to August
On 15 January, 1208, Pierre de Castelnau, the Papal Legate was assassinated by an equerry of Raimond VI, Count of Toulouse.
In the summer of the same year, Raimond Roger Trencavel organised a great festival in his citadel of Carcassonne where the best knights could measure their skills against each other. But among these smiling, benevolent faces there was a traitor... a traitor who, out of hatred, jealousy, envy, cowardice and ambition secretly prepared the doom of the young Viscount. But what smile is the villainous knight hiding behind?
